The current state of quantum RAM

TITLE: Reading between the bitlines: the current state of quantum RAM
SPEAKER: Dr Olivia Di Matteo
AFFILIATION: TRIUMF, Vancouver, Canada
HOSTED BY: Dr Márika Kieferová, UTS Centre for Quantum Software and Information

ABSTRACT:
Quantum RAM, or qRAM, is a controversial topic in quantum computing. Many algorithms take its presence for granted and claim to be efficient, however it is unclear if we will be able to build an efficient qRAM in practice, especially in a fully fault-tolerant setting.
In this talk, I will outline the early proposals for qRAM, and highlight some very recent developments. I will also discuss some resources estimates for qRAM and qROM. Finally, I will introduce our new open-source Q# library for qRAM. This library makes various types of qRAM and qROM readily available for users implementing quantum algorithms, and provides a convenient framework for designing and optimizing better qRAMs.
