Our CEO and Founder, Michael J. Biercuk, took the keynote stage at Q2B Tokyo to present one of the most significant milestones yet in quantum computing: achieving practical quantum advantage in materials simulation for energy.
We demonstrated that by augmenting an IBM Quantum computer with Q-CTRL performance-management infrastructure software, we can push the limits of quantum simulation in materials science to a regime where the quantum computer is 3,000 times faster than the industry-standard classical software package.
This is an important step toward using quantum computing to tackle real-world challenges in chemistry, materials science, and future energy technologies.
